Terms of Site Use

Our Organization:

This is the website of ASSOCIAÇÃO COMUNIDADE EM AÇÃO (COMMUNITY IN ACTION). We are an established Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP), the highest non-profit title given by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice whose purpose is to facilitate the emergence of partnerships and agreements with all levels of government and public agencies (federal, state, and municipal). The institution is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (CGC / CNPJ No. 07121.369/0001-00). We are also recognized as a non-profit community based social service agency under section 501 (c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code: EIN # 208421010.

Agreement to Terms:

Community in Action (“Community in Action”, “CiA”, “we”, or “us”), allows you to access and use this site (the “Site”) subject to these terms of use (the “Terms”). By using this site, you agree to comply with these terms.

Modification of Terms:

We may amend these Terms from time to time and reserve the right to impose, without prior notice, any amendments posted on the website. If we make changes in the Terms we will notify you by posting a notice on the Site and/or sending an email to everyone that has accepted to be on our contact information list. You are responsible at all times for updating your contact information if you would like us to provide you updates.

Your Information:

Community in Action may require you to provide information about yourself for certain uses of the site (such as identification or contact information in the online volunteer application or if you contact us or wish to work with our team in Rio de Janeiro). By submitting your data, you agree that any such information is correct, complete, and up to date. You also agree to provide accurate information in the online application and you will not create an application for anyone other than yourself or create more than one application. You may not impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

Privacy:

You agree and consent to the use of your personal data in accordance with Community in Action’s privacy policy. Please review our current privacy policy link (“Privacy Policy”).

Site Conduct:

When using this site, you may not post or transmit information, data, text, software, graphics, sound, photographs, video, messages, or other content (collectively, “Content”) that is unlawful, harassing, inaccurate, libelous, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, harmful, threatening, abusive, hateful, or is otherwise determined to be objectionable by Community in Action. You will not post or upload any viruses, time bombs, worms, cancel-bots, trojan horses, adware, malware or other programs that may damage, interfere with the operations of the Site or any system, data or information pertaining to this Site, or alter any settings on the Site or any computer.

Violation of Terms:

If you violate any of these Terms or other user guidelines posted on the Site, or if Community in Action believes that your conduct or Content is offensive or illegal, violates the rights of, harms, or threatens to harm third parties or Community in Action stakeholders, or creates a liability for Community in Action or third parties, Community in Action reserves the right (but is not obligated) to investigate and take appropriate legal action in its sole discretion.

On our site we provide links to other internet sites or services. Community in Action has no control over Third Party Sites and Services; we do not endorse, and are not responsible for any Third Party Sites and Services or the information, material, products or services contained on or accessible through Third Party Sites and Services. You acknowledge that Community in Action is not responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of any such information, material, products, or services. Many Third Party Sites and Services have their own terms of use and privacy policies that differ from ours. Community in Action’s Terms and Privacy Policy only apply to our Site and do not apply to any Third Party Sites and Services.

Indemnification:

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless (not hold liable) Community in Action, it’s respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, employees, partners, other participants, any sponsors, owner and lessors of premises on which activities take place, FROM ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, DEMANDS, LOSSES, OR ALLEGED TO BE CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) related to: your use of the Site; any breach or inaccuracy of any representation or warranty made under these Terms; your violation of these Terms; violation of applicable laws or any rights of third parties.

All content on the Community in Action website is the intellectual property of ASSOCIAÇÃO COMUNIDADE EM AÇÃO (COMMUNITY IN ACTION). Users may download and print extracts of content from this website for their own personal us ONLY. None of the data found on this site can be used for commercial purposes, unless you speak directly with a Community in Action Associate. Disclosure of Warranty:
